Alter Bridge is an American rock band based in Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2004 by then-former members of Creed, Mark Tremonti (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Marshall (bass), and Scott Phillips (drums), with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), formerly of The Mayfield Four. Alter Bridge released their debut album, One Day Remains, in August 2004, followed by their second album, Blackbird, in October 2007. Both of those were highly successful. In January 2010, the band announced that 17 songs for a third album have been finished and that the band is writing even more material.[3] The album's recording process, accompanied by producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Ratt, Limp Bizkit), began on February 15, 2010.
